A New Data Management Method for Seismic Interpretation, Geology Modeling and Reservoir Simulation
Abstract
Traditional data management method of the seismic interpretation, geology modeling, and reservoir numerical simulation is to save the data packets in raw software format. The main drawback of such method is that data packed in raw format is hard to reuse, to display or to dig. Our method builds up a common database model and a common data format for the storage of the geological data, which can solve the problems described above. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that data resulted from the E&P subsurface workflow is integrated as a whole in CNPC. This integrated data management method which lays a sound foundation for follow-up studies comprehensive research and data display has a broad prospect in application.
