Oxidation Behavior of Ni-10Cr Alloy under the Compressive Stress at 900 ℃
Abstract
Oxidation behavior of Ni-10Cr alloy was investigated in the presence of compressive stress at 900 ℃. Oxidation kinetics, measured by two methods, indicated a parabolic rate law. The applied compressive stress increased the growth of the oxide scale. Evolution of surface morphology of oxide scale revealed a serious of stress releasing forms during the oxidation proceeding. In spite of occasionally cracking and spalling generated, re-oxidation at the cracks and spallation appeared.
