Junya Ishigami’ Doctrine—Remote Past and Remote Future
Abstract
As a pioneer architect in Japan, Junya Ishigami has gained extensive attention from architectural circle with his unique view of architecture and view of nature. This paper has elaborated his inheritance for the traditional Japanese cultural spirit and architectural language expression in his works, especially the blank characteristic presented in his work by discussing his architectural works and by taking architectural space, space conception, architecture and environment as clues. It looks forward to bringing reference to modern architectural creations.
