A Review of the Professional Skills’ Training and Assessment in Engineering Education

Abstract


Professional accreditation for engineering education, which plays a vital role in the development of higher education, originated from the European countries and the United States with a history of over 100 years. Along with the global development of engineering education, researchers recognized that the professional skills, which emerge equal significance with the technical skills, are ability that students major in engineering shall possess. Recently, researchers from various countries conducted a series of researches on the main contents, significance, assessment methods and future development of the training and assessment of professional skills, which created a solid fundamental for further investigations.
