Newsvendor Problem of Auction Type Procurement Goods

Abstract

Newsvendor (NV) is one of important Inventory problem both for manufacturing and service enterprises. This paper combines the models of inventory control with auction theory. We consider a single-item NV problem with stochastic demand, where the product is procured through single dimensional inverse auction. The manager needs to determine the order quantity. Finally, a numerical example is analyzed based on our model.
