Open Spectrum Application Plan for Connected Car

Abstract

ICT has evolved into a connected car business, in which a vehicle platform and traffic services are being converged. Wireless communication is essential to provide real-time traffic safety and information for drivers and vehicles. For this purpose, V2X (Vehicle to Everything) has been introduced. However, it needs a lot of efforts to secure a stable and economical frequency on the limited frequency resources. In order to stimulate a connected car industry, this paper analyze a possibility to apply an open spectrum for connected car business through an expert interview, and propose an open spectrum policy to apply a TVWS(TV-White Space).
