Study on the Influencing Factors and Countermeasures of Parents’ Stress with Autistic Children

Abstract

Because of the characteristic symptoms of autism, parents of autism has a lot of pressure. This research analysed the data of 399 autistic children's parents in Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74, Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales II, Conners Parent Symptoms Questionnaire. Parents’ anxiety and depression are influenced by physical function, social function, material life, family relationships and children's psychosomatic disorder. Class of children, the cost of treatment accounted for the percentage of household income and the outcome of age of diagnosis minus age of onset all have different influence on parents’ stress. According to the results, some countermeasures are given.
